Jon Foreman is a cool guy, yo

My absolute favorite band is Switchfoot. Anyone who knows me at all knows that. As far as I know, though, no one really knows why. The main reason would be the lead singer, Jon Foreman. Between everything that he's written (songs and other), and what people have said about him, I've learned that, not only is he an amazing guy, he's one of the most humble people on earth.

I've read a lot of his articles and whatever, and I can honestly say that if I did not have my church, I would follow the example that Jon Foreman provides.

Anyways, the whole reason for why I created this post was to show you this that he wrote... it's awesome:

Also, if you were wondering the meaning behind Switchfoot's new song 'Dark Horses,' you should read this (actually, even if you weren't, you still should):

Those are actually the only two of his Huffington Post articles that I've read, but I will be checking out his others soon.

I really hope you liked those articles. Peace.

Capturing a scene of life

Photography is one my most favorite things out there. I pretty much suck at all other art forms, so it is my creative release.

I bought my first (and only) dslr camera almost a year ago, and I havae taken many thousands of pictures with it. It is one of my most prized possessions, and only certain people are allowed to touch it.

So yeah, I basically started this post weeks ago and it is short and filled with ADD xD

I was thinking of starting a photo-blog, what do you think?

I'm reading a book!

Yep! Basically I love Julian Smith's videos, but that's not what this post is about, now is it?

So basically, I finished Eldest for the 2nd time a few hours ago, but the catch is that the last time I read the Inheritance series was around 3-4 years ago. The good thing about this is that while I remembered a few big events, I've completely forgotten how/when/what leads up to those events. This is great because I also remembered that I really enjoyed these books. So this time around, I know that I like it, and I know a few things about it, but it still feels like a completely new adventure because I re-discover the secrets and mysteries, and still get caught up, wondering what will happen next!

It's an exciting thing, really

Take THAT you face!

Ultimate Frisbee is the (WARNING: PERSONAL OPINION COMING UP) Greatest sport around. I've been playing it for about a year and a half now, and it's pretty much what keeps me in shape.

If you play it right, it's pretty dangerous, and there are occasional injuries, such as a broken arm (about this time last year) and lots of bumps, bruises, and scratches. Yesterday, however, marked one of the few times it hit me in the face.

Unlike the other times, however, this one hit hard. It was thrown from literally five feet in front of me, at full speed, intended for the other side of the field. Surprisingly, it really didn't hurt that much. It did, however, give me a horrible nose bleed. As I walked to the bathroom my hands cupped with blood (all of which I still haven't been able to wash out. It was the most blood I remember seeing on anyone's hand!

I eventually got it to stop bleeding, but, even now, there is still a bruise, it's swollen up a bit, and it's tender to the touch. Due to this, I'm thinking it could very well have broken my nose.... again...

P.S. It is currently 77.9 degrees Inside my house, and rising! We need to get AC working again ASAP!!

The cure for said blindness!

I had an eye appointment to 1: Renew my contacts, and 2: To get glasses that actually work!

In the year or so since my last visit, both my eyes have gotten worse, but now they are equally bad! This is good news because I don't need to worry about right/left contacts.

I haven't worn glasses (that were of a good prescription) since I got contacts, which was 3-4 years ago, so I'm kind of excited to finally wear them again, and it'll be really nice to have them for when contacts can't be used.

Do you wear corrective lenses?

If you are reading this anytime soon after it's publishing, Congratulations!! I have told no one of this blog, so there is almost no chance of you being here.

Sickness is a disease (For the body and soul)

About a week ago, Sunday, I came down with a pretty bad 24-hour flu or something, and by Monday I was feeling almost completely better. The next day, I noticed something strange, it was getting worse, not better, with a fever coming back. Apparently I caught something else right after. I wouldn't have minded so much, except for Choir tour (to Disneyland) started the next day.

By Wednesday, I was feeling alright, with no fever, so I decided to go on tour anyways. The entire time, I had a runny nose and a cough. I seriously had an amazing time overall, but every time I had to blow my nose again in front of my friends, it honestly made me feel bad that I had to put them through this. The worst, though, was on the bus rides, when there was no way to keep from bothering them. A couple of times I ended up with a row to myself (mainly due to my choice), and somehow I just get really depressed, being alone yet still bothering others with coughs and nose noises around me.

I think one of the things about the sickness that really affected me was how it seemed to limit my ability to make conversation because 1: Being sick makes you want to rest and not concentrate on anything, and 2: Coughing and blowing your nose doesn't help when you're talking to others and vise-versa.

In the end, I know that, while I may have bothered them a bit, I shouldn't have been feeling that way, I'm sure it was basically just a result of prolonged sickness.

We still managed to have sooo much fun anyways!

P.S. I am still sick with it to this day....

P.P.S. This post is rather depressing compared to the other ones...

Blindness!!!

I have the contacts that you can sleep in for up to a month. As a result, I can see perfectly fine for a whole month!! (usually more, though, cause I forget/am lazy)

Yesterday just so happened to be that day, and all I can say is, I'm blind!!! I haven't checked in a long time, but my eyes are somewhere around 20/400. When people I know are in the room, I can barely recognize them, and there's no way for me to know what direction they are looking.

I then put on my glasses, and, while they helped, the fact is, is that the prescription for them is from many years ago, and with them on, I'm pretty sure it's Illegal for me to drive (although I did anyways)
